Familiar Friday - Vampire Finch

 

A serious content warning when looking up this particular familiar: the Vampire Finch got its name from pecking into+drinking the blood from legs of other animals like a vampire bat (at least, sometimes. They aren’t strict hematophores).

 

 Look them up and you will find them doing just that and it’s pretty unpleasant. 

Not that insect or bat teeth are especially ‘fun’ to see in action either, but something about a bird beak committed to it…bothers me.
