Coyotes are terrifying when you live in a rural area because they like to eat cats and small dogs, but they’re also kind of cool and cautious. I never needed wolves outside my window when I visited Tahoe as a kid because the world never lacks for these howly things- they’re plenty threatening, silly and weirdly majestic on their own. Also- Coyotes love their families. That’s very sweet.
