Familiar Friday - Lamprey

 

The ickiest of icky things are still important, technically, like, say, the Lampreys. 

All lampreys are parasites that drink fish blood but only a few are invasive species.

 Lampreys fascinate me because, from the side I think they actually look kind of homely and sweet - DEFINITELY NOT from the front though. This one however is NOT invasive, as she thinks her jaws are quite beautiful in fact- not that she’s ever seen them, granted, but they work and that’s all she needs.
