Oddities meet the Owl House

Time taken out of the day for a very important reason: I wanted to draw the Oddities in the style of Dana Terrace's The Owl House, which is a delightfully beautiful-goffic witchy series.
I love me some familiars, so as you can guess I really love the witch's paslisan, which are equal part familiar and flying broom in the Owl House-lore.
OBVIOUSLY, Boiling-Isles styled Mouse is a little misplaced palisman with dreams of being her own witch. Can palisman do that? So eager to know....

Though Oddities feels right at home in the Owl House vibe, a personal list of shows and books that serve as an influence for it from my childhood include:

  • The Animals of Farthing Wood
  • Hamtaro
  • Martin Hsu's Ruby Gloom 💖
  • The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends and the books of Beatrix Potter 💖
  • Courage the Cowardly Dog
  • Adam Rex's Frankenstein makes a Sandwich and Frankenstein takes the Cake 💖
  • Wayside School
  • The Tale of Despereaux
alongside some classic Roald Dahl and Henry Selick-fixations.

I plan to use this blog space to also promo other children's horror and gothic stuff I think would be right up my reader's ally.
